Attachments

The default settings allow users to add any attachment to the system. However, you can limit the ability to add files and enable adding only attachments with a specific extension or prohibit adding attachments with specified extensions. The selected settings are applied globally, i.e. they are applied to all processes.

1. Allowed attachment extensions

The parameter allows you to define the types of attachments that can be added to the system. This parameter applies to all system places that enable adding attachments, including form, HotFolders, HotMailBoxes, and API.
The following options are available:

  • No limit – users can add any attachment to the system,
  • Allow only adding attachments with an extension – the option allows you to create a list of acceptable extensions for added attachments. The system prevents adding attachments with extensions other than specified on the list,
  • Do not allow adding attachments with an extension – the option enables creating a list of extensions that are not authorized. The system prevents adding an attachment containing an extension specified on the list.

Once you choose to limit acceptable attachment extensions, the system suggests a list of attachment extensions. To remove a given extension from the list, press the Minus.png button (on the right side of the list). Pressing the Plus.png results in adding a new extension to the list. To refresh the extension list, press the Refresh.png button.

2. Define the maximum size of the attachment file

The field allows you to specify the maximum size of an attachment added to the system. Please note that while this setting is applied globally (i.e., it applies to all processes), you also have the option to independently define a specific maximum attachment size for a particular process.
