Document entry points

A reception desk is a place in which paper documents are registered in the system and labels for these documents are printed.

To configure a document reception desk you must configure people or computers belonging to this desk.

To print document labels you must define printers assigned to computers in the reception desk.

NOTE: if automation triggered by the menu button includes the “Printout a barcode label” action, the button will be visible only when a document entry point is defined.

1. ID​

Displays a database reception desk identifier.

2. Code​

Edits a regception desk code.

3. Name​

Edits a registration point.

4. Description​

Edits a description of a reception desk.

5. Computer table​

Allows you to edit computers belonging to a reception desk.

You can enter:

  • Reception desk code
  • Computer name
  • Computer description
  • Computer IP address
  • Computer IPv6 address
  • Main printer
  • Accounting printer
  • User login

Both main printer and accounting printer are used to print labels. In the print action you can define which printer is to be used. 
A reception desk is determined on the basis of user's login and computer (through computer name or IP address).

If  no users are assigned to a particular computer, users not assigned to any particular work station are searched.
Definitions of computers with no defined login of a particular user are checked as last.

6. 'Association' panel​

Defines people belonging to the reception desk.

7. 'Add' button​

Adds a new computer to the list of computers.

8. 'Delete' button​

Deletes a selected computer from the table.

9. 'Printer test' button​

Tests label printout on the main printer.

When testing barcode printout, WEBCON BPS will overwrite the printer control code in order to correctly print the barcode. This may affect other systems that use the same printer.

In order to test barcode printing without overwriting printer settings, it is recommended to create a simple workflow which contains a Printout a barcode label action configured to print a test label.
The following code can be pasted into the Template section of the action configuration:
