Exchange Server
Data source allows you to establish a connection and retrieve data from the Microsoft Exchange mail server.
The connection configuration allows you to enter different parameters for the DEV/TEST/PROD environments. The connection, like all other connections in the system, is transferred via the Import/Export mechanism, i.e. the connection appears in the tooltip when importing files when used in the process.
1. Basic parameters
The section allows you to specify basic parameters of the connection, such as ID, Name and Description.
It is also possible to indicate the Connection type. In this case, it will be Exchange Server by default.
2. Environment parameters
Allows you to enter individual connection parameters (server address and type, credentials) for each system environment.
The Common tab sets the default parameters that will be used across all 3 environments (DEV/TEST/PROD).
The tabs dedicated to individual environments can be used to enter custom parameters. Mark the Break inheritance checkbox to ignore the Common tab settings, and then enter the desired connection settings.
Server type – connections to the Exchange server are handled via Exchange Web Service (EWS) with Basic authentication. For Exchange Online, it is possible to choose a connection through either EWS with Basic authentication or Microsoft Graph with OAuth authentication.
Microsoft has begun deprecating support for Basic authentication for Exchange Online. It might be necessary to activate it in tenant settings or through Microsoft Support. It will be deactivated in the future, and Microsoft will announce the date 12 months before the planned deactivation.
3. Assign test task
Testing the connection to Exchange Server.
After pressing this button, a window appears where you need to enter the login (in UPN format) of the user who will be assigned a test task.
